About Ayurveda

  • Ayurveda deals extensively regarding all aspects of life and diseases. Brahma, the god of creation was the first to propone the healing art. He divided the entire science into eight specialties of "Shalya Tantra" whereas surgery was claimed foremost by Shushruta

    Ayurveda is a vast ocean of science and medicine, related to healthy life and various preventive measures.

    It is Upaveda of atharvaveda.

    It is the ancient holistic system of healing through various medicinal and surgical process. It not only cures diseases but also prevents illness.

    A sloke in Sanskrit "Svasthsya svasthya rakshnam aatursya vikar prashamanam" it means main aim of Ayurveda is to preserve good health and treat the diseases of sick people. Ayurveda has described eighty types of vata disorders, forty types of pitta disorders and twenty types of cough disorders and seven types of dhatus, three types of Malas as well. Seven dhatus are Ras, Rakta, Mans, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Shukra.

    The disturbances in these Doshas, Dhatus, Malas creates various complications and diseases in the body. Which can be detected through patient's pulse reading which gives wider scope to treat the disease successfully by creating harmony in the present condition of the body by controlling the vitiated doshas by driving out the root cause of diseases.

Nadi pariksha is a science as well as an important diagnostic measure to assess the fundamental status of the body. Nadi parikshan is done by pressing the pulse on three particular location on wrist at the radial artery using index, middle & ring fingers corresponding to Vaat, Pitta & Kapha.
